Botox
The most common use of these injections is to relax the facial muscles that cause frown lines and other facial wrinkles, and can result in a more smooth and youthful appearance. We can do botox treatments on the upper half of your face, from the sides of your eyes to your forehead!
Botox blocks nerve signals to muscles resulting in limited tensing or contracting, which prevents further wrinkles or small lines from becoming deeper. These effects are always temporary, but can last for several months, and do not permanently erase or smooth out existing lines or deep wrinkles.

During Your Appointment
During a Botox injection appointment, your provider will start by discussing your goals and examining your facial muscles to plan the perfect placement for the injections. Once you both agree on what results you are aiming for, our nurse will prepare you by cleansing the area. After that, a few tiny injections are administered — most people describe the sensation as just a quick pinch. The entire process usually takes less than 15 minutes. You can walk out looking like your most refreshed self — because who says beauty can’t be a lunchtime affair?

Post-Treatment Aftercare
After your Botox appointment, some bruising can occur. To prevent bruising pre-treatment, avoid drinking green tea, taking aspirin or non-steroidals (such as ibuprofen) for several days. We also recommend avoiding alcohol or Vitamin E for at least 2 days. We also want you to know: - There is no downtime as no sedatives or anesthetic is used, however it does occasionally take between 1-2 weeks for the botox treatment to set and for movement to be reduced. - Tylenol may be taken before or after the procedure to ease mild discomfort. - It is recommended to do facial exercises, like frowning or smiling, for the first hour after treatment. - Avoid manipulation or touching the area for the first hour after treatment. - After one hour, you may apply light makeup, but we advise being gentle and with limited pressure to the injection site areas. - Avoid stooping, straining or lying down for 4 hours after the treatment. - Avoid strenuous activity for at least 24 hours after the treatment. - No facials for 1 week following the treatment. - Touch-ups may be desired after 2 weeks, so an appointment can be made after day 8. - The benefits last 3-6 months, but usually average around 4 months. - Continued treatments are recommended, as once the botox fades, you will look the same as before. - It is recommended to wear sunscreen and reapply every two hours for several days after the treatment.
Results
Your results should appear within 1-2 weeks after your treatment! Sometimes touch ups are necessary, and you are welcome to call and schedule an appointment after day 8. Usually, most botox treatments last about 4 months, and we recommend returning after 3-4 months for continuing treatments and maintenance of your anti-aging looks!
